A growing boutique airport dining operator is looking for an experienced Director of Employee Health and Safety. This growing group believes that a dining experience in the airport should be as authentic as the city being visited. This belief in authenticity extends to the well-being of the team and staff as well the guests they serve.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Workers Comp issue procedures and laws as well as knowledge and experience in workplace safety. He or She must be well-versed in the knowledge of the workplace, the employees and their job demands.
Bachelor's degree in human resources (or in related field).
At least 4 years experience in a Director's role focusing on the following:
Implement personnel management policies to ensure that everyone in the workplace is aware of his/her responsibilities;
Establish effective ways of meeting health and safety responsibilities;
Ensure that employees fulfill their health and safety responsibilities as outlined in the organizational policies and programs;
Ensure that the health and safety policies and procedures conform with the applicable occupational health and safety legislation and accepted; best practices in similar organizations;
Establish procedures for enforcing company safety rules;
Helping reduce costs associated with losses due to absenteeism injuries, Workers' Compensation, disability, and health care;
Maintaining records of injuries, illnesses and workers’ compensation.
