RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director of Safety and Risk Management reports to the CEO and responsible for directing and providing health and safety program oversight to units across the organization. The position will oversee compliance with corporate quality assurance, food safety, workplace safety, and health programs with an aim to reduce risk and increase compliance through auditing, training, and awareness programs.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong safety program development experience with a company that has experienced rapid growth.
• Degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Studies, Physical Sciences, related major, or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience managing complex projects across multiple locations
• Understanding of foodservice process including procurement, preparation, sanitation, and related USDA & FDA laws is a plus
• Experience partnering with risk managers, loss control executives and insurance underwriters to resolve loss prevention issues
• Ability to quickly recognize and solve challenging safety issues that arise during normal daily activities in a foodservice environment
• Comfortable leading large cross-functional initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional management from Legal, HR, Risk Management and IT
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Chartered IOSH Membership or other related certification a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
• Sound administrative skills, well-developed management skills, principles, and people
• Results-oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations
• Ability to build and utilize relationships to move the business objectives forward
