Executive Chef and Pitmaster

$60,000 to $80,000 plus bonus and benefits

We are looking for an Executive Chef for a new BBQ restaurant coming to Charlotte this summer. This exciting new concept is supported by an established Charlotte restaurant group that has a reputation for putting its people first. This is a great opportunity for an Executive Chef who wants to focus on a singular craft, mastering slow-cooked meats. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in barbecue cookery and has the title pitmaster. Being a certified Pitmaster for this position is not required. Successful candidates will come from chef-driven concepts with 100% scratch cooking.


At least 2-3 years of BOH experience at the executive level

Inventory control, menu, plate & labor costing

High volume & quality production experience

Always looking to improve and minimize waste

Deep understanding of health & hygiene regulations/food handling practices

Current food protection certificate

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Organized and comprehensive purchasing experience and local vendor relationships

Menu/recipe creation, maintenance and documentation, and daily staff education

Strong computer skills & financial acumen must!
