Owned by a successful local independent restauranteur, this dynamic, Mexican-inspired bar and grill will feature a bold menu with market-fresh ingredients in a comfortable, vibrant setting. This challenging opportunity is well suited for a hands-on, innovative Executive Chef who is looking for a stage to perform his or her art.
-The ideal candidate for this role brings 3+ years of recent Executive Chef or Chef de Cuisine experience or 5+ years of Executive Sous Chef experience from a well-known and highly regarded full-service restaurant group.
-A Mexican cuisine culinary background is a top requirement and new concept opening experience will be highly valued.
-We are looking for candidates with the ability to hire, train and positively lead a group of 10+ team members. Proven track record of leading by example and also holding team members accountable.
-Excellent time management skills, hands-on and able to work independently.
-Flexible availability to work day, evening and weekend hours as business needs dictate.
-Knowledge of restaurant business administration including food cost, labor management, P & L.
-A sound foundation of knowledge in laws/regulations pertaining to NYC human resources compliance.
-Must be proficient in ensuring DOL/Health Department compliance as it pertains to restaurant foodservice operations and hold an NYC Food Handler’s Certificate.
