This community-focused cafe that strives to create nutritious, simple and delicious food is seeking a Head Chef to join the team in New York City. The Head Chef is responsible for managing a stable and focused team and taking pride in every plate they prepare. Also for adhering to NYC DOH and company standards of health and safety, and properly maintaining kitchen facilities and equipment. Head Chefs train and coach the BOH team, place orders and maintain pars, and maintain a positive and productive work environment.
-Minimum 4 years of BOH supervisory experience in a Chef de Cuisine, Executive Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager or equivalent role.
-Experience in a made-to-spec, scratch kitchen a must.
-Hands-on leader including strong expediting skills.
-Seeking candidates who truly embrace and promote a fresh food philosophy
-Strong organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills and exhibit composure and professionalism while under pressure
-NYC DOH Food Handler’s Certification
-A sound foundation of knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to hospitality human resources compliance
-New restaurant opening experience is a plus
