This multi-unit, premium restaurant group is seeking a Purchasing + Inventory Manager in New York City. This role will position a talented, food-focused purchasing professional to impact growth and results by working closely with the C-Suite Executive team directly on assignments. The Purchasing + Inventory Manager will also work closely with several outside Vendors to coordinate food, beverage, materials and services sourcing, manage inventory levels and procedures, and lead efforts to minimize the cost of products. The Purchasing + Inventory Manager will in unison with members of the culinary and beverage teams to maintain quality and consistency and should be adept in identifying food and industry trends that may have an impact on operating cost and product availability. The Purchasing + Inventory Manager should be comfortable with sourcing and vetted new vendors. National procurement experience within the restaurant/food service industry will be looked upon favorably.
The ideal candidate brings a minimum of 5 years of recent experience leading a Supply Chain/Purchasing department within the foodservice industry. Annual purchasing spend of $10M as a minimum. A background in institutional and contract food purchasing will be highly valued and beer/wine/liquor purchasing is a plus. Strong knowledge of vendor sourcing, inventory administration with COMPEAT, purchasing and receiving systems. Bachelor’s degree, strong negotiation skills, knowledge of forecasting techniques, detail-oriented, with strong analytic skills and an innovative approach to problem-solving. Must enjoy and be able to succeed in a collaborative, hands-on work environment. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Must be proficient in using Microsoft: Word, Excel, Outlook, purchasing software (COMPEAT strongly preferred).
